Celestial being is an attempt to describe the last year 2023-2024 or so of my life… a year of slowly falling apart, brick by boring brick, but in a way that felt strangely beautiful. It’s that quiet, necessary kind of destruction, like watching a phoenix turn to ash just before it’s reborn. And if you look closely, you’ll probably spot my new obsession, deliberately mismatched earrings in the form of the sun and the moon phases, peeking through.

Drawing inspiration from celestial bodies and the groups XG and Aespa, I wanted to create something that spoke to both growth and falling apart to reflect my journey of self growth , a concept that felt contrasting yet in total harmony
Project Analysis & Challenges
This piece really had me pushing my boundaries, exploring all these unconventional textures and fabrics, which was a wild and fun challenge in itself. But honestly, that wasn’t even the hardest part. The biggest hurdle for me was actually recording the behind-the-scenes. Logically, I know I didn’t have to do much, just automate my system to capture it, but it felt deeply vulnerable. I never record my process because it feels absolutely raw and exposed; maybe it’s a bit of imposter syndrome, that quiet fear of not being good enough even though I know I’m constantly leveling up my skills. It’s a strange conflict, climbing new heights every day while part of you hesitates to show the climb. (And yes, pushing through that fear is part of the growth, so I became more comfortable with recording my BTS, and my master’s degree pushed my boundaries more there).
