Project Description
I just wanted to capture an abstract animation of my favourite and most comforting thing to say lately. In the 2023 BTS documentary; ‘BTS monuments:beyond the stars’ Joon says ‘THE SHADOW IS AS BIG AS THE LIGHT IS BRIGHT” shifted something deeply in me. These days I do translate it on a personal level as ‘the shadow is as big as the light that shines on it’, and the thought of that both as it is and vice versa I find so freeing. That truly that is just life, that darkness exists because light exists and light exists because darkness exists.
So when I'm going through tough times I tell myself that though all I can see is darkness it means the light is not that far away, I just can't see it, and the light (or growth) from said tough times is also present. And when all looks glamorous outside but I don't feel that inside I tell myself that yeah, this is it, just because it's bright doesn’t mean there aren’t shadows too.
I'm an ambitious person and ambition can be a double-edged sword most days., With a lot of losses and a handful of wins, it gets really draining, but this wise words of Joon's shifted my whole universe.

Project Analysis & Challenges:
The main idea was all about that balance between light and shadow, but actually building that world in the animation came with its own set of challenges. Honestly, the biggest one was nailing the camera moves and getting the lighting just right in Cinema 4D; it was tricky to make it feel as powerful as the quote does.
On the flip side, the rigging process I did in DAZ 3D was honestly the most fun part. I loved that. Figuring out the workflow from DAZ 3D over to Cinema 4D though? That threw off my usual rhythm a bit. But in a way, that was the whole point of "rat race" was to push myself to make something totally abstract and step completely away from my usual art style and comfort zone.
